World Day Against the Death Penalty

All around the world, men, women and sometimes even children, sit locked in jail cells awaiting their execution. Some of them have been tortured, and some have never even talked to a lawyer.

Hundreds of people from the Asia-Pacific region are executed each year, with more people executed in China than in any other country. The death penalty is a violation of fundamental human rights. On 10 October — World Day Against the Death Penalty — add your voice to the call to commute all death sentences and abolish the death penalty.
